WHY WOULD MY DOG NEED A CHIROPRACTOR?

🦴 1. Musculoskeletal Issues

If your pet has joint stiffness, limping, a change in gait, or difficulty climbing stairs, it could indicate spinal misalignment or joint dysfunction. Chiropractic adjustments aim to restore normal joint motion and reduce pain.

🐕 2. Recovery After Injury or Surgery

Chiropractic care can support healing after an injury or orthopedic surgery by:

  • Reducing muscle tension and inflammation

  • Restoring range of motion

  • Helping the body realign after compensating for injury

🧠 3. Neurological Problems

Because the spine protects the nervous system, issues with the spine can cause nerve impingement and balance changes. Pets with signs like dragging limbs, ataxia (loss of balance), or unexplained pain might benefit.

🏃 4. Performance Optimization (especially for working or athletic animals)

Dogs involved in agility, herding, or service work may receive chiropractic care to stay in top shape and prevent injury from repetitive stress or overuse.

🩺 5. Non-Specific Pain or Behavior Changes

Sometimes pets show signs of discomfort that aren’t easily explained — such as irritability, sensitivity to touch, or reluctance to be active. A chiropractic exam may reveal a physical cause not obvious in standard exams.

DO YOU KNOW THE SIGNS

YOUR BEST FRIEND IS IN PAIN?

  • Clear beach water with ripples and small rocks beneath the surface.

Limping or holding up a paw?

  • An abstract, blurry image with vibrant colors including red, orange, yellow, blue, and green blending together.

Not wanting to walk or limping more as they walk further?

  • Blurred bokeh lights in soft pastel colors, creating an abstract and dreamy background.

Is stiff and slow to get moving after rest?

  • A foggy, overcast view of the ocean with no visible land or objects.

Does your dog whimper or snap when touched near their back or neck?

  • Abstract photo with green and white bokeh circles, no distinct objects visible.

Suddenly seems low-energy and less playful?

  • Light blue sky with white fluffy clouds.

Struggling to squat to go to the toilet or lie down?

  • Cloudy sky with patches of blue

Struggling to climb stairs or jump on the couch?

  • Green leaves hanging from branches against a blurred, bokeh background of light green and blue hues.

Posture changes or their back suddenly arched like a cat?

Dr DAVID KNIGHT

(B.Sc Chiro, M.Chiro)

I grew up in Wee Waa, a small cotton town in NSW.

I grew up working with horses, dogs, cats, sheep and cattle. Animals were our way of life.

With dogs as both pets and working animals as well as horses for mustering I have always had a strong affinity to want to work with animals

It was not until I moved to Brisbane after over a decade of experience working as a human Chiropractor that I found the right opportunity to learn the trade off some of Australia’s most experienced and proficient Animal Chiropractors.

After 14 months soaking up every piece of knowledge I could and overlapping a decades worth of applied learning with humans I began my own practice in Paddington QLD.

I look forward to helping you and your best friend in the future.
